The sun makes everyone happy.

The weather has been amazing at the moment, and its making me think a lot about the summer and festivals. My top item for the summer is sun dresses, as they are so versatile. After looking at many websites, i have come up with a top 5 (from the highstreet) for my wish list!:

5: This is a dress from Topshop for £28 (my friend recently bought it and i intend to borrow it alot!) The peach colour, compliments my fair skin tone, and the fit doesnt make hips look enormous..which is always a plus!

4: This basic t-shirt dress is from American Apparel. I love the classic and relaxed style of this dress. Although i love their range, living in Manchester means i have to rely on the website, so no trying on. If you have this dress already, let me know how it fits and stuff?! I can just see myself wearing it with some deck shoes and raybans in the sun.

3: Ive been wanting a denim shirt/dress for ages now (but due to money funds ... havent bought one) I love the Acid wash colour on this dress from Miss Selfridge, and the detail such as the raunching at the waist. It would look great either on its own, or with a t-shirt underneath.

2: I love the colours in this topshop dress! It reminds me of a clown for some reason... but in a good way of course! haha. I have a slight obsession with patterns such as checks and gingham, so im not surprised i like this dress. Its an ideal beach dress, or even for a spot of sight seeing. Also at £25, it wont break the bank. :)

1.Yes, i know, im still a sucker for a floral tea dress. I love the vibrant pink and the sheer material of this dress though. It just makes everything seem more feminime and innocent. The low-v cut will flatter a small bust and the length is perfect for the day, not too short and not too long. All in all, i think when i get enough money i will buy this Lipsy dress from ASOS.

Here goes...

So I've finally entered the land of blogging, and its all a tad scary. I only have basic web design skills (thanks to a uni module), so you will have to bare with me!
In all honesty, im not an interesting person, but i do love reading blogs, magazines etc and also looking into new things, from music to peoples outfits. So this will probably become a place for me to vent my views.

I recently came across the new BBC switch TV programme called 'Class of 2008', and have to say i watched the first three episodes in one day.

Its basically about a load of London 'it' girls/guys, and how they are wanting to make it big in 2008, whether it be in fashion, music or just the general scene. I was pleased to see that both Daisy Lowe and Portia Freeman are featured in it, as they are both very impressive aspiring models.

Ive only recently become familiar with the work of Portia Freeman. Her tight blonde corkscrew curls are to DIE for...especially as i have straight, dark brown hair! She is the face of the new Matthew Williamson perfume, and has many magazine spreads and catwalk appearances. She also made it into the Tabloids a while back for dating Pete Doherty..which is an interesting choice of partner.

I have always lusted after Daisy Lowe's clothes, and style. The fact that she looks effortlessly cool, is a big factor in this (and that her legs go on forever!) I even have to admit buying ASOS's own version of her t-shirt (below right). I am in no doubt that she is influence by her mother Pearl (who wrote a biography 'all that glitters' last year, which is a must read), who was also a style icon in earlier years.

I think both girls embrace the 'grunge' look, but still remaining girly (thanks to their amazing model looks). Hopefully the TV programme will boost their identity, and we shall be seeing a lot
more of them over the next year!
Sorry for this shambles of an attempt... but maybe il get better soon?!
